• Excelsior, 11 local fire departments secure funding for WAFTA site cleanup (hometownsource.com) — Excelsior has secured $1.2 million in federal funding to clean up the long-contaminated WAFTA training site it technically oversees near St. Bonifacius. The project will investigate and remediate polluted soil, groundwater, and old missile silos, with leaders still weighing whether to later sell the land or turn it into a regional public safety training center. 
• Twin Cities Nursing Home Workers Launch Three-Day Strike (hoodline.com) — Nursing home staff at Estates of Excelsior are among more than 300 Twin Cities workers staging a three-day strike for higher pay, better benefits, and safer staffing. Pickets are rotating among five metro facilities through Wednesday, while operators say contingency plans will keep residents safe and negotiations could resume soon.
