• Video shows 18-mile pursuit of pickup truck driver that ended in Blaine crash (cbsnews.com) — A pre-dawn police pursuit that began when a Fridley officer tried stopping a pickup ended 18 miles later in a Blaine ditch, with the driver arrested on a felony warrant. Multiple north-metro agencies joined the chase as the suspect sped through several cities before crashing in a neighborhood and being taken to jail to face new charges.
   

• A forester's eye on the wild (hpj.com) — Longtime Fridley resident Erv Berglund has spent 45 years meticulously journaling wildlife activity at his remote hunting shack 200 miles north of town.
