'My So-called Enemy' Movie Screens at Islamic Center of MN in Fridley

The Saturday show and discussion is part of Izun/Mizan film series.

is hosting My So-called Enemy, a documentary film about Israeli, Palestinian, and Palestinian Israeli girls who participate in a leadership program in the United States called Building Bridges for Peace.

The film, set for Saturday at 7 p.m., is the first in a local series called Izun/Mizan (the Heberew and Arabic words for "balance").

Each film in the series focuses on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict with a chance for "interfaith dialogue and learning" after each screening, according to a series website. Other screenings in the series are at other locations in the Twin Cities.

Eric Black at MinnPost called My So-called Enemy "intelligent and deeply moving."

The film-and-dialog series is "as timely an event as ever," TC Jewfolk's Jeff Mandell wrote in an article published at Twin Cities Daily Planet.

Admission is free, although donations will be accepted. There will be refreshments. In addition to the discussion period after the film, there will be a chance for people attending the film to socialize beginning at 6:30 p.m.
