• Anoka County Retires Northstar Construction Debt but Keeps $5 Million Rail Reserve for Future Transit Projects (town.news) — Fridley residents won't see a 2027 rail-authority property tax levy, but Anoka County still holds about $5 million in Northstar-related reserves while rail service has been replaced by Route 852 buses from Fridley to Minneapolis. Commissioners debated whether any of that money could support Fridley's former Northstar station underpass, highlighting ongoing questions about how to use the remaining funds for future transit projects. 
• Fridley Man Charged in Fatal Minneapolis Apartment Robbery (mncrime.com) — A 19-year-old Fridley resident has been charged in connection with a February robbery at a Minneapolis apartment lounge where a man was fatally shot. Prosecutors say video, Snapchat records, and ballistic evidence link him and others to the scene, and he allegedly admitted being present, though the complaint does not claim he fired the shots.
• Blaine officer thrown from Corvette during DWI stop, driver faces felony charges (fox9.com) — Fridley officers helped Blaine police arrest a suspected impaired driver who allegedly sped off with an officer partly inside his Corvette, injuring the officer before crashing into a retaining wall. The officer has been released from the hospital, and the driver is jailed facing multiple felony charges, including criminal vehicular operation and assault on a peace officer.
