• Arrowhead Cooperative update - John Twiest (wtip.org) — Arrowhead Cooperative will hold its annual meeting on June 10 at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais, with registration at 3 p.m. and the meeting at 4. CEO John Twiest also highlighted ongoing rural broadband construction and reminded residents to call 811 before digging to locate underground utilities.
   

• Yearling bear sightings in Grand Marais lead DNR to urge securing bird food and attractants (wtip.org) — A young black bear has been roaming several Grand Marais neighborhoods, prompting the Minnesota DNR to urge residents to remove bird feeders and secure garbage, pet food, and other attractants. Officials say “tough love” now—scaring the bear away and cutting off easy food—can prevent future conflicts and keep both the bear and community safer.
   

• Construction work resumes on Cascade River Wayside Rehabilitation Project this week (boreal.org) — If you’re driving between Grand Marais and Lutsen, expect construction delays at the historic Cascade River Wayside on Highway 61 through November. MnDOT crews are improving drainage, parking, walkways, and crossings while preserving the site’s historic stone overlook, so motorists should plan extra time and follow all posted work-zone rules.
