• GFPD Media Report (mn.gov) — Recent Granite Falls Police Department calls from May 23 through June 2 include welfare checks, suicidal-person reports, domestic incidents, traffic stops, alarms, animal complaints, and several agency assists around town. While most calls were routine warnings and checks, the log shows officers repeatedly responding to the 18th Street address, Highway 212, and downtown streets residents use every day.
   

• Breaking ground for the future (marshallindependent.com) — Granite Falls residents are seeing their overwhelming bond vote turn into action as Yellow Medicine East breaks ground on a nearly $74 million campus overhaul that will unify schools, fix aging infrastructure, and add a new daycare and early learning center. With over half the cost covered by the state’s Ag2School tax credit, construction will proceed in phases through early 2029, promising safer, more accessible facilities and a rebuilt track for local athletes.
