Meet up and Chow Down starts on Monday, volunteers encouraged to sign up to help kids (wdio.com) — Families in Hibbing can get free bag lunches for kids Monday through Thursday this summer at Bennett Park and the Hibbing HRA Playground, thanks to United Way of Northeastern Minnesota’s Meet Up and Chow Down program. Meals run noon to 1 p.m. from June 8 to September 3, with a brief holiday pause, and volunteers are still needed to help serve.

2. A Tribute To His Dad (tenfourmagazine.com) — Hibbing’s role as the birthplace of Greyhound and home to the Greyhound Bus Museum helped inspire trucker John Highley to restore a vintage bus in tribute to his late father, a longtime Greyhound driver. His custom-painted “Comin’ Home” coach will soon tour America’s backroads, sharing highway-safety stories and old-school trucking memories while inviting people aboard to experience a rolling slice of transportation history.

3. Eveleth Elks Lodge 1161 proud to donate $125,000 to the community (wdio.com) — Eveleth Elks Lodge 1161 has donated $125,000 to five regional nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity and the Quad Cities Food Shelf, supporting families across the Iron Range. With 18 charitable gambling sites, including venues in Hibbing, the lodge is channeling gaming revenue back into nearby communities that Hibbing residents live, work, and volunteer in.

4. Judith 'Judy' Marie (Miller) Minke (leadericcpa.com) — A woman who spent part of her childhood in Hibbing and attended Hibbing Beauty School, Judith “Judy” Minke is remembered as a devoted mother, Nana, and gifted cook and crocheter after a long battle with cancer. Family and friends will celebrate her life with a gathering and margarita toast in Milltown, Wisconsin on June 12.
