Socio-Economic Inequality: Poverty Isn’t Just about
“Those People” with speaker, Julia
Dinsmore will be held on Wednesday, June 18 from 7-8 p.m. in the Gallery at
Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins. Ms. Dinsmore is a Minnesota poet, author, singer and educator who works
to transform others’ view of people living in poverty and also to promote
dialogue about the imbalance of the flow of wealth and resources. She has started the conversation through her
book, My Name is Child of God. . . Not
‘Those People’, her own story of living in generational poverty from
childhood, to raising her sons as a single mother, to middle age.
