• Family remembers Hopkins father killed when utility pole fell (kstp.com) — A Hopkins father was killed when an Xcel Energy utility pole suddenly snapped and crushed his car outside the Second Street Apartments, sparking a fire and leaving neighbors stunned. Family, friends, and residents have built a growing memorial while questioning how a pole neighbors say looked rotten and leaning could fail so catastrophically. Xcel says the pole passed inspection in 2023 and the investigation continues.
