• Hopkins police reports, Aug. 31 to Sept. 6 (hometownsource.com) — Hopkins police logged a week of incidents from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, including several thefts from vehicles, bike thefts, motor vehicle thefts, and property damage across town. Residents may want to note activity on familiar streets like Excelsior Boulevard, Mainstreet, Blake Road, and Minnetonka Mills Road, and take extra care securing cars, bikes, and packages. 
• Leave your politics at the door for this year's Latino Cultural Celebration in Hopkins (hometownsource.com) — Hopkins residents are invited to a Latino Cultural Celebration on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 2-6 p.m. at Downtown Park, featuring dance performances, Mariachi music, and cultural displays. Organized by the longtime Hopkins-based Ramirez family of Costa Rica Ballroom, the festival aims to bring neighbors together, set politics aside, and highlight the hard work, family values, and rich traditions of the local Latino community.
