June 14 Meeting - Congressman Kline, Community Service Update and Scholarship Notes
Speaker Congressman Kline, Community Service Update and Scholarship Notes
Congressman John Kline was the featured speaker at the June 14 Rotary meeting.
Representative Kline is a former Rotary Member and current Honorary Member of Rotary Club 9 in Minneapolis. He stayed mostly true to our nonpartisan format giving an update on issues both in Washington and at the local level. His main message was the nation and world are both experiencing a variety of intense, difficult issues and the answers for many of the problems are complex, political and sometimes uncertain.
He spoke for 30 minutes and answered questions for another 30. We thank Congressman Kline for his time and the legislative update!

A Lakeville Rotary Club Community Service Planting Project will take place next Tuesday, June 19th at North Park. We will be planting 400 native plants in a rain garden designed to filter run off water from the parking lots. This project is our annual nature community service project.
And finally, Lakeville South sent a thank you note for our scholarship contribution to the students. Rotary donated four $1500 general and four $1000 Strive scholarships to Lakeville South students. The same amount was donated to the students at Lakeville North.
