• Recent threats that shut down Lakeville, Elk River schools likely swatting hoaxes, BCA says (cbsnews.com) — Lakeville South and Lakeville North high schools were evacuated and closed after anonymous threats mentioning weapons and explosives were sent to a Lakeville schools tip line, with investigators now saying they were likely swatting hoaxes. Law enforcement and the BCA stress they must treat such threats seriously, even as no weapons or explosives were found and the schools prepare to reopen.
   

• Cross country: Lightning's Bakken wins 2nd consecutive meet (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville North and Lakeville South cross country runners turned in solid performances at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, with Lakeville North's boys placing 20th in the Championship Division and its girls fourth in the Gopher Division. Several neighboring South Metro schools also posted strong results, giving Lakeville fans a good sense of how their teams stack up early in the season.
