• Man accused in Mazeppa campground murder appears in court (kttc.com) — A Lakeville woman was the victim in a 2025 homicide at a Mazeppa-area campground, and the man charged in her death has now appeared in Wabasha County court. Prosecutors say the 70-year-old defendant faces second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter charges, with another court date set for October as the case moves toward trial.
   

• Welsch returns to Adirondack (echl.com) — A professional hockey goalie from Lakeville, Henry Welsch, has re-signed with the Adirondack Thunder for the 2026–27 season. The 25-year-old netminder, who played college hockey at UMass-Lowell, previously posted solid numbers and earned his first pro shutout with the New Jersey Devils' ECHL affiliate.
