• Lakeville hangar owner seeks answers over electric bill spikes as Xcel balance tops $61K (fox9.com) — A longtime Airlake Airport hangar owner in Lakeville is fighting an Xcel Energy bill that suddenly ballooned from about $40 a month to more than $61,000 after a digital meter was installed. He's brought in electricians, contacted Xcel repeatedly, and is now working with an attorney as the utility reviews the meter and admits some incorrect billing while the huge balance remains.
   

• Three of four area school districts started before Labor Day (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville families are the only ones in the Sun Thisweek coverage area whose schools started after Labor Day, with District 194 beginning classes on Sept. 8 while neighboring districts opened in late August. The story compares start and end dates across nearby districts and explains how earlier openings are used to wrap up school in early June and preserve longer winter and spring breaks.
