Amish Woman, 23, Killed By Suspected Drunk Driver In Northern Minnesota
Authorities say a Ford F-350 pickup plowed into a horse-drawn buggy on Highway 92 Saturday.

CLEARWATER COUNTY, MN — A 23-year-old Amish woman was killed and her brother was injured after a suspected drunk driver plowed into their buggy on a northern Minnesota highway, according to authorities. The crash happened at 7:35 p.m. Saturday on Highway 92 in Clearwater County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), a Ford F-350 pickup and a horse-drawn buggy were both traveling southbound on Highway 92. The Ford collided with the rear of the buggy in Leon Township.
Buggy driver Mervin Yoder, 27, was transported to Sanford Health Hospital in Bagley with non-life threatening injuries. Passenger Elsie Yoder, 23, was transported to Sanford Health Hospital in Fargo and later died.

Ford driver Christopher Keith Baumann, 27, did not suffer any injury in the crash, according to MSP. Baumann was jailed Sunday pending charges. "The driver was impaired by alcohol," Patrol Lt. Tiffani Nielson told the Star Tribune.
