Crimson Boys Basketball Team Shoots Well and Passes Even Better in Win vs. Armstrong
Team effort leads to easy baskets and balanced scoring in big win over Armstrong.

Maple Grove played probably their best half of basketball of the year against Armstrong in a 80-53 rout of the Falcons. Jake Wieneke got off early and led the Crimson with a floor game that featured nifty assists, and athletic finishes by the 6-4 junior wing. His 10 points and four assists helped the Crimson to a 41-29 halftime lead.
After the break, the Falcons scored the first four point off Crimson turnovers and suddenly the lead was down to eight. The Crimson settled into an effective attack against the Falcon 2-3 zone and outscored their opponents 20-9. Wieneke and Grant Kaufman had sweet assists to Dan Lochner and Erik Olson against the zone, to balloon the lead to 61-40. For the first time this year, both post players had at least 10 points. In addition, balanced scoring from Brycen Woyta (16), James Morris (11) and Wieneke (14) was another indicator of a strong team game. The Crimson were a torrid 64 percent from the field.
This week features both Hopkins and Osseo for the Crimson as their conference record to 9-6 and 11-8 overall.
