MRTT provides support, encouragement, and fun!

Moms RUN This Town has so much to offer!

As the weather continues to improve, members of the Champlin/Maple Grove chapter of Moms RUN This Town (MRTT) have been meeting up more for group runs, meeting at local races, and enjoying the outdoors.

There have been regular weekend morning runs as well as some week day evening runs. Members have also started initiating additional times and days as well as posting to find nearby running buddies or training partners.

Being a free, laid back club allows for a great amount of flexibility and options... and our private Facebook group provides a great tool for connecting with other women, planning group runs, finding new running partners, or asking for tips/advice. We are even known to veer off onto plenty of other topics besides just running, and the chatter is a lot of fun.

It's really a wonderful and supportive community, with members of all levels - from walkers and beginners to speedy marathoners. No matter your level, the encouragement you will find is incredible. Before you know it, you've made some great new friendships - and gotten healthier or met new running goals, too!

Another great thing about being involved in a group like this (with so much flexibility, so many members, and the private online group), is that you can join group runs or find running partners rather than running alone...and it is certainly nice to have safety in numbers. This is an important element of the group for many members.

Members are encouraged to initiate their own group runs as well - it doesn't have to run on a certain set schedule or only be up to leaders to organize a run. If enough people are initiating runs, and there is enough interest, there can be unlimited options to join in throughout the week (especially as membership continues to grow at such a phenomenal rate). This includes group runs by pace, for example we have a run coming up specifically for people of a 12-13 minute mile pace (or anyone who doesn't mind going that pace and just wants to go out and have fun). As long as there is the interest, these types of "pace specific runs" are sure to continue!

If you are a mom (or a pet mom, a hopeful mom, or even a woman who can spell M O M), consider joining MRTT. We welcome you, whether you are just getting started, or run a 13 minute mile pace, or run a 7 minute mile pace, or can run 1/4 of a mile, or can run 25 miles. No matter what, there is a place for you. After all, whether you ran 2 miles in 15 minutes, or 2 miles in 27 minutes - you still ran 2 miles, and you still did more than anyone on the couch!

What do you have to lose...it's free. All you need to do is request to join our closed, private facebook group. One of the leaders will approve you and that's it, you're in.

Easy, free and fun - what's better than that!?!
