Pierre Bottineau Parade - Maple Grove Days

Application are now being accepted for the Maple Grove Days Pierre Bottineau Parade, July 11, 2013

The Pierre Bottineau Parade will be held on July 11, 2013.  The political units start off at 6 p.m., the WWII airplane flyover is at 6:15 p.m. and the rest of the parade units begin at 6:30 p.m.

In 2012, well over 10,000 viewers lined up along 89th Avenue to watch the parade.  The parade is filled with visiting royalty, beautiful floats, school marching bands, youth groups, church groups, school organizations, community organizations, businesses, police & fire vehicles, animals, musical groups and the list goes on.  No matter what your favorite part of the parade is, you’re sure to find the Pierre Bottineau Parade fun for the whole family.

People wishing to enter the parade need to submit an application.  Applications may be requested at 763-494-5985 or http://www.mgco.org/contact.php.  The parade committee is accepting applications now. The committee reviews hundreds of applications each year and tries to provide a well-balanced parade that everyone will enjoy.  Hours of daylight limit the number of units that can be permitted in the parade. This limitation on units combined with the popularity of the parade means that available spaces fill very quickly.

We hope you will use your creative talents when planning your parade unit. We would like all participants to decorate a fun and entertaining display to be viewed by thousands at the parade.  Parade unit creativity is judged in two categories, over $2000 and under $2000, with cash awards going to first, second and third place winners.
