Trunk shows in the eyewear industry are based on the same idea as those in the jewelry and garment industries - they give retailers the opportunity to showcase and entire line of designer goods.
Usually an optical store will display several different designer eyewear lines but not the entire line. In order to give customers the opportunity to browse an entire line of designer eyewear, trunk shows are held. Usually there are specials from that sales rep. also.
At our store we showcase over 2,000 designer frames from over 25 designers so in the last week of December. We have asked our best selling eyewear reps to attend our week long trunk show.
