Child Dies From Apparent Drowning In Maple Grove

Maple Grove police and fire, and North Memorial paramedics responded to a call of an unconscious child in a pool Sunday.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — One child is dead following a pool incident Sunday. Hennepin County Sheriff's deputies, Maple Grove police and fire, and North Memorial paramedics responded to a call of an unconscious child in a pool at the 7300 block of Orchid Lane in Maple Grove at about 9 a.m.

When first responders arrived they began medical care. The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to a news release.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will make the identification and official cause of death.
