City Council Moves Forward With Cedarcrest Street and Utility Project

At their meeting this week, the city council made a motion to adopt a resolution ordering the Cedarcrest of Maple Grove Area Street and Utility Project.

Cedarcrest Development wants to build 62 single-family lots on residual land that the City of Maple Grove acquired for the County Road 10/Bass Lake Road alignment.

The first step forward , when Cedarcrest Development entered into a purchase agreement with the city, agreeing to buy 5.77 acres of vacant land for $369,280.

On June 18, the hosted a public hearing on the Cedarcrest of Maple Grove Area Street and Utility Project—a plan that outlines needed improvements to the 5.77 acres of land.No one spoke at the hearing and the council unanimously voted to move forward with receiving surety, ordering plans, approving plans and authorizing advertisement for bids.

The project, which would cost roughly three million dollars, focuses on improvement to the location’s streets, storm sewers, sanitary sewers and water main.

According to council documents, the city clerk will take project bids until July 10 at 11 a.m. The city will use Maple Grove’s Construction Bulletin to advertise the project.

Bids will be reviewed by the city council on July 16. Assistant City Engineer Terry Muller told patch that the project should be complete next July.
