Enormous St. Bernard Rescued From Roof In North Metro

"Whiskey" punched out a screen before jumping out of the second-floor window.

SPRING LAKE PARK, MN — A Saint Bernard weighing more than 100 pounds had to be rescued from a roof in the north metro Friday after it jumped out of the second-story window.

The Spring Lake Park Fire Department responded to the scene where "Whiskey" was hanging out on a perch.

A firefighter climbed a 16-foot ladder to get to the dog and lifted him into the house back through the window.

"I remember looking dumbfounded and just saying, 'wow,'" Lt. Anthony Scavo told the Star Tribune. "Whiskey had pushed the screen out of the open window and jumped out onto the roof."
