Erik Paulsen: 'Concerns' about Government Surveillance, Sees Need for 'Balance'
Minnesota's Third District congressman also introduced charter-school legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.

U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN) toldΒ TPT'sΒ AlmanacΒ programΒ Friday,Β "I share some of the concerns about the scope and the depth" of government surveillance. ButΒ Paulsen, who represents Minnesota's Third Congressional District in Congress,Β also said surveillance is a valuable tool to fight terrorism and cited a need forΒ "balance."
Paulsen also spoke about revelations about domestic spying FridayΒ on WCCO-AMΒ and SundayΒ on WCCO-TV.Β
Earlier in the week, Paulsen questioned House Ways and Means CommitteeΒ witnesses about the scandal in which the IRS targeted conservative-leaning groups for scrutiny.Β
