The 6th annual Karol Carlson GolfTournament Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Shamrock Golf Course in Corcoran to benefit the Maple Grove Senior High School Girls and Boys Swim and Dive Teams. Proceeds from the event will be used toward the costs associated with replacement of the pool scoring and timing equipment.
“The new score/readout board will be much more swimmer and spectator friendly,” said Boys Coach Ron Jacobsen. “It will allow us to put up splits during the race and keep team scores and diving scores.”
The golf tournament is dedicated to Karol Carlson a former, very active volunteer of the swim programs. Karol and husband John had all three of their children in Maple Grove swim programs and were huge supporters for many years. Karol died of cancer in 2007 so the teams choose
this time each year to honor her memory.
