One of the greatest dreams of mankind has been to find some kind of way to hunt dinosaurs. Since time machines are a ways off, entertainment mediums have tackled the topic in their own ways for as long as we've known about the prehistoric giants.
While books and movies are great fun, the closest you'd imagine getting to the living world of dinosaurs would be in a video game. I recently had the opportunity to review Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD.

Unfortunately this game did not live up to expectations, but if you're hard up for a dinosaur hunting experience it might be worth a shot. (Get it, a shot?) You play an intergalactic hunter that drops into dino locales to bag the biggest beasts in the fewest shots. If killing the greatest prey isn't your thing you can opt for tranquilizer darts. Keep collecting bounties and points to open up new areas, weapons, and gadgets to expand your hunting experience.
The gameplay is for the incredibly patient but when you do bring down the big guys it can be quite satisfying.
In other news I'm expecting Activision to send me Skylanders: Swap Force sometime in the future. Skylanders has been a massive success across the gaming and toys spectrum of kids stuff so maybe that one won't disappoint, I wouldn't think it would but a colleague handled the last one and this would be my first time playing a Skylanders game.
