Maple Grove, Brooklyn Park Teens Shot In Monday Carjacking

Authorities are still looking for the suspects and the car involved in the Monday morning incident.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MN — Authorities are looking for suspects after two teenagers were shot and a car was stolen early Monday. On Sept. 24 just after 5:30 a.m., Columbia Heights police officers were called to the area of 42nd Avenue and Fillmore Street Northeast.

Officers found two gunshot victims. The caller was identified as a 17-year-old man from Maple Grove. The second victim was identified as a 16-year-old man from Brooklyn Park.

Both were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The stolen vehicle is a 2016 white Jeep Patriot with Minnesota license plate "AWF385." It has not yet been recovered.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic male and a Hispanic female.

The case is still under investigation by the Columbia Heights Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information can call (763) 427-1212.
