Nearly $10K Raised For Family Of Coon Rapids Teen Killed By Train
The crash involved a northbound train loaded with approximately 50 passengers Friday in the north Twin Cities metro.

COON RAPIDS, MN — Friends, family, and community members are coming together to raise money after a 13-year-old died in a crash involving a train in Coon Rapids. Chason J. Catchings Chivers Jr., 13, of Coon Rapids was struck and killed by a Metro Transit Northstar commuter train Friday evening.
"There’s nothing that can take the pain away from this loss but we can help ease the pain by taking some of the financial burden off of their shoulders," the GoFundMe page established for "CJ" reads.
"Kelli & Chason are amazing parents and CJ was a wonderful big brother & friend to all."

The collision involved a northbound train loaded with approximately 50 passengers at the time of the crash. No passengers were injured as a result of the crash, according to a news release.
The incident remains under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, Metro Transit Police Department, and Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
