Paramedic Dies After Ambulance Rear-Ends Semi On I-694: MSP
The semi had broken down and was parked on the shoulder of the highway when the collision occurred.

HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — A paramedic died Monday after an ambulance crashed into a broken-down semi that was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 694 at Shingle Creek Parkway. The HealthEast ambulance was eastbound on I-694, attempting to change lanes to eastbound Interstate 94, when it rear-ended the truck just after 7 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP).
The semi was being towed when it was rear-ended, MPR News reported. The paramedic, 24-year-old Marina Gayledeste Challeen, from Saint Paul, died in the crash.
The ambulance driver, Susanna Grace Kelly, age 27, was taken to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The semi driver, a 44-year-old woman from Temple, Georgia, was not injured in the collision.
