Teen Blows Light, Crashes Into Ambulance Carrying Toddler: Cops
The ambulance — carrying a 3-year-old and his mother — tipped over as a result of the collision in Blaine.

BLANE, MN — An ambulance transporting a 3-year-old and his mother to the hospital tipped over Monday after a teen driver crashed into it after he ran a red light, according to police. The collision happened at the intersection of 109th Avenue NE and Highway 65 in Blaine just before 9 p.m.
A 17-year-old ignored a red light to go westbound on 109th Avenue when he smashed into the Allina ambulance headed southbound on Highway 65, authorities said.
The 23-year-old mother, her son, two ambulance crew members and the teen driver were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said. The teen driver was charged with a misdemeanor citation.
