Teen Dies In Coon Rapids After Crash With Passenger Train
The collision involved a northbound Metro Transit Northstar Commuter Train loaded with approximately 50 passengers at the time of the crash.

COON RAPIDS, MN — Police say a teenager is dead after a crash involving a passenger train and a pedestrian in the north Twin Cities metro. On Dec. 13 just before 7 p.m., Coon Rapids and Metro Transit police responded to the scene at 119th Avenue Northwest and the double railroad tracks near Northdale Boulevard Northwest in Coon Rapids.
Police there found a teenager dead. The collision involved a northbound Metro Transit Northstar Commuter Train loaded with approximately 50 passengers at the time of the crash.
No passengers were injured as a result of the crash, according to a news release. Passengers are being transferred to Metro Transit busses at this time, and 119th Ave. is currently closed. Traffic is being diverted.

The incident remains under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, Metro Transit Police Department, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
