Visit Marshall’s director hopes the Thursday-night gatherings, running on several dates through July, will draw both residents and tourists to support restaurants and enjoy performers like Tracy artist Kayla Daniels.
   

• Local America 250 activities lead up to 4th fireworks (marshallindependent.com) — Marshall is gearing up for an extended Independence Day celebration, with America 250-themed activities stretching from June 24 through the July 4 fireworks at Independence Park. Residents can join a medallion hunt, museum scavenger hunts, Memorial Park tours, a drive-in movie at the library, and a full evening of food, music, and fireworks on the holiday.
   

• Butterfield Man Killed, Woman Critically Injured in Watonwan County Crash (marshallradio.net) — A fatal crash in Watonwan County on Saturday claimed the life of an 83-year-old Butterfield man and critically injured his passenger. The semi driver, 43-year-old Richard Lee Sanow of Marshall, was not hurt in the collision, which involved a Ford Bronco Sport and a Peterbilt semi at Highway 60 and 660th Avenue.
