7 Hurt In Crash After Juveniles Fleeing Cops Hit Bus Shelter: Police
Police pursued six minors in a stolen vehicle that was suspected in connection with multiple armed robberies, authorities said.
MINNEAPOLIS — Seven people — including six minors — were taken to the hospital after a vehicle hit another vehicle and then a bus shelter during a police chase Monday in Minneapolis, according to authorities.
Shortly before noon, detectives were working on a joint operation with multiple agencies in North Minneapolis when law enforcement saw a vehicle that was suspected in multiple armed robberies earlier in the day and was moving erratically, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Detectives tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled and police gave chase, according to authorities. The vehicle struck the other vehicle near Penn Avenue North and Olson Memorial Highway before hitting a bus shelter and a man at the same intersection, police said.

A woman who was in the vehicle that was struck was treated for minor injuries at the scene and the pedestrian who was hit was taken to a hospital, according to authorities. All six of the juveniles — five boys and a girl — were taken to the hospital despite several of them initially trying to flee on foot, police said.
