Business Leaders Empower Minneapolis Women to Take Advantage of Career Opportunities

Helping local women build connections and find new career opportunities.

We want women to know they can take control of their life by taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves, even when it feels out of their comfort zone, and build a career that is meaningful and impactful,” said Nancy Schwartz, a financial advisor for Foster Klima, and a speaker at the Opportunity Is Everywhere event that was held especially for local business women to share stories and discuss how to identify and take advantage of career opportunities available to them. There were more than 60 women in attendance at the event hosted on Thursday, October 13, at The Woman's Club by Foster Klima & Co, a Guardian Life agency and one of Minneapolis’ leading financial services firms

Foster Klima & Co created the event to provide local women the chance to build new connections and career opportunities. Discussions were centered on how women can utilize their personal strengths, capitalize on career paths available to them and use their current professional network and personal connections to find career opportunities. The distinguished panel of speakers discussed how they sought out and took advantage of career opportunities, why they took risks and how those risks helped them advance in their career—and they were encouraged to do the same. Among them were:

“We held this event to help support women building new careers in financial services,” said Schwartz. “The field of financial services itself offers abundant career opportunities for women, whether entering the workforce for the first time, re-entering after children, or looking at a career change. We’re passionate about sharing with women that a career in financial services and sales is not only achievable, it can allow women the flexibility to raise children, have a lucrative career, and continue to be involved in their community. We would love to have interested women who are looking to start something new contact us whether they were at the event or not.”
