At 2:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of gunshots and a motor vehicle crash in the area of the 2200 block of Aldrich Avenue North.

Officers arrived and located a one vehicle crash with one person gravely injured. Officers provided immediate aid to that victim until care was taken over by paramedics. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died shortly after arriving.
Another individual was found at the scene who was determined to have been in the vehicle. He was interviewed at the scene.

Preliminary investigation leads detectives to believe that the occupants of two vehicles were engaged in a dispute and they were driving north on Aldrich from the 2100 block. After entering the 2200 block, one vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, gravely injuring a passenger in that vehicle. The other vehicle fled the scene in a northbound direction.
Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab and Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the scene to investigate this incident.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim along the nature and cause of death.
