Halloween Eve Snowstorm On Tap For Twin Cities: MN Weather

It won't be the Halloween blizzard of 1991, but the Twin Cities metro area is slated to get some snow Monday night and Tuesday morning.

MINNEAPOLIS — It won't be the Halloween blizzard of 1991, but the Twin Cities metro area is slated to get at least a dusting of snow Monday night and Tuesday, and likely more.

"Light snow begins this evening after 6 p.m.," the National Weather Service said.

"The most widespread snow will be along & north of I-94. On & off snow showers will continue into early tomorrow morning. Watch for slick spots & reduced visibility on the roads tonight & especially during the Tuesday morning commute."

Up to two inches could fall in the metro, the NWS said.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 37. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Monday Night: Snow likely after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Halloween: Snow likely, mainly before 9am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Halloween Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest after midnight.
