Local Home Care Provider Achieves Certification In Dementia Care

Trained Caregivers Provide Compassionate Care to Clients With Dementia

Per the Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention, more than five million Americans have some form of age-related dementia. For ComForCare Home Care, a provider of in-home, non-medical care, delivering excellent dementia care is a top priority.

Paula Anderson, owner of ComForCare Home Care of St. Paul East, is pleased to announce that her office recently completed corporate certification in DementiaWise®, ComForCare’s comprehensive care program designed to enhance the lives of those living with dementia.

“Using research-based behavioral interventions, DementiaWise teaches ComForCare caregivers to understand and anticipate changes caused by dementia,” said Deborah Bier, PhD, a psychotherapist and ComForCare director of special populations. “The program teaches caregivers and their family members how to use compassionate, practical strategies to reduce challenging behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.”
