March On Pace To Be Historically Cold: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — It's not just your imagination. It's been an especially cold March, even by Minnesota's frigid standards, the National Weather Service confirms.

If it fails to hit 50 degrees in the Twin Cities by next Friday, it will be the first year since 2001 the metro did not reach 50 at least once in the month of March.

Here are the highest max temperatures for March in the Twin Cities, according to the NWS:

If the latest forecast is any indication, the metro won't even sniff 50 degrees this month. However, NWS' temperature outlook only extends to March 29, so stay tuned.

Friday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. North wind 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. North northwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. West northwest wind around 10 mph.
