Minnesota Football at Maryland: Everything You Need To Know
Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, and more.
Both Minnesota and Maryland are looking to bounce back after a disappointing week. The Golden Gophers dropped their second game in a row when they lost at home to Iowa by a 14-7 score and the Terrapins were routed by Penn State 38-14 for their first loss of the year.
The Gophers’ offense struggled against the Hawkeyes as quarterback Mitch Leidner was only 13 of 33 for 166 yards and 2 interceptions. The running game didn’t offer Leidner much support as it only produced 102 yards on 29 carries. Minnesota’s defense was impressive though, as the Gophers forced Iowa into three turnovers and held the Hawkeyes to only 321 total yards.
Prior to its destruction at Penn State, Maryland was 4-0 and had outscored its opponents by a 43-14 margin. Against the Nittany Lions, the Terrapins’ offense was ineffective, partially because quarterback Perry Hills (5-of-7, 72 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception) was knocked out of the game. Hills is expected to play but his effectiveness is in question.
