Minnesota Has 935 Coronavirus Cases, 29 Deaths

The state health department said 106 Minnesotans are currently hospitalized because of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minnesota has had 935 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, the state health department said Sunday. At least 29 people have been killed by COVID-19 in Minnesota.

Since the outbreak began, 202 Minnesotans have been hospitalized due to complications from COVID-19. As of Sunday, 106 people remain hospitalized because of the virus.

The most common way of contracting COVID-19 in Minnesota is community transmission — meaning residents are getting the virus without having known contact with someone who has been confirmed as having the coronavirus.

As of Sunday morning, there were 29 confirmed deaths caused by complications from COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Health said. The median age of the deceased is 86. Minnesota's dead range in age from 58 to 100.

Of the 106 Minnesotans in the hospital with COVID-19 on Sunday, 48 are being treated in intensive care units.
