MN Senate Bill Aims To Crack Down On Robocalls
Unsolicited robocalling is already prohibited in Minnesota, but a new bill would further penalize violators.
ST. PAUL, MN — A bill that aims to crack down on robocalls in Minnesota will receive its first committee hearing in the state Senate Tuesday.

If passed, Senate File 252 will add the following penalties to the existing state law regulating robocalls:

In addition to the penalties and remedies under paragraph (a), the attorney general is entitled to sue for and recover on behalf of the state a civil penalty from a person found to have violated sections 325E.27 to 325E.30. The court must determine the civil penalty amount, which must not exceed $100,000.
S.F. 252 is set to have its first hearing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Commerce and Consumer Protection committee.
