Mohamed Noor’s Attorneys File Motion To Appeal
Noor, a former Minneapolis police officer, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison last month for killing Justine Damond.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Attorneys for former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor filed an appeal Tuesday, according to reports. Noor was convicted in April of second-degree manslaughter and third-degree murder for killing Justine Ruszczyk Damond of Minneapolis.
In the appeal, Noor’s attorneys plan to argue that the judge erred by allowing charges not supported by probable cause to go to a jury, allowing prosecutorial misconduct, limiting Noor’s right to present a complete defense and improperly instructing the jury on the third-degree murder count, the Pioneer Press reported.
A Hennepin County judge sentenced Noor in June to 12.5 years in prison. Noor fatally shot Damond — a 40-year-old bride-to-be originally from Sydney, Australia — on July 15, 2017, after she called 911 to report a possible assault happening behind her home.
