More Snow, Ice On Track To Hit Twin Cities Metro: MN Weather
A winter storm warning is in effect Wednesday due to the ice and heavy snow expected across the region.

TWIN CITIES, MN — A winter storm warning is in effect Wednesday due to the heavy snow expected in the Twin Cities metro area and across central Minnesota.
"A wintry mix of rain, sleet, and ice across southern Minnesota will continue today," the National Weather Service said. "Several hours with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely, which will cause significant travel impacts as visibility drops to a quarter mile at times due to the heavy snow."
The NWS is predicting total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze on Wednesday. More snow is expected Thursday morning.

Tuesday: Snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 4pm, then snow between 4pm and 5pm, then snow, possibly mixed with rain after 5pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow before 11am, then patchy blowing snow after 3pm. High near 33. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
