North Dakota's Sole Abortion Clinic Plans Move To Minnesota
The abortion clinic is planning to move to Minnesota, where abortion remains legal even after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

FARGO, ND — North Dakota's one and only abortion clinic is planning to leave the state and move across the river into Minnesota following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The Red River Women’s Clinic, located in Fargo, will have to shut down by July 28 due to North Dakota's trigger law. That law will make abortion illegal in all circumstances "except to save the life of the mother."
South Dakota has a similar ban.

Meanwhile, abortion remains legal in Minnesota up until the point of viability. Over the weekend, Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order to provide legal protections to people coming to Minnesota seeking an abortion.
"This ruling changes nothing in Minnesota today, tomorrow, or as long as I am governor," vowed Walz on Friday. "We will not turn back the clock on reproductive rights."

As of Tuesday, the Red River Women’s Clinic has raised $766,000 on GoFundMe to move to a new location in Moorhead, Minnesota. Fargo and Moorhead border each other.
"Words of gratitude simply can't be formed," the clinic wrote in a response to the flood of donations.
"While this abhorrent SCOTUS decision has increased the stress, workload, and undue burden of patients, abortion providers, abortion funds, and practical support networks; it is truly warming to see the swift and grand response to protect abortion access and a beloved independent clinic."
