Red Flag Warning Issued Tuesday As Temperatures Rise: MN Weather

MINNEAPOLIS — The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a red flag warning through 8 p.m. Tuesday due to critical fire weather conditions.

Low humidities combined with gusts near 30 mph will allow fires to spread dangerously fast.

"Warming temperatures and sunshine over the next few days will feel much more like a normal early May springtime than we have been," the National Weather Service said.

"Clouds return on Thursday with chances for a few weak showers and storms to end the week. Critical fire weather conditions are forecast this afternoon."

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 38. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming light northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 67. West northwest wind around 5 mph.
