Target Adding 'Drive Up With Starbucks' To Stores Nationwide

Target customers can now get freshly made Starbucks items brought directly to your car, along with the rest of your Target order.

MINNEAPOLIS — Nearly every Target customer in the nation will soon be able to add their favorite Starbucks drink or food item to their "Drive Up" order.

After a successful pilot project — which included Target locations in Minnesota — "Drive Up with Starbucks" will be available at more than 1,700 stores by early October.

"Our guests have long told us Drive Up is a game-changer, adding convenience to their daily life, especially when they're short on time," said Mark Schindele, chief stores officer at Target.

"We've continued listening to our guests, who've told us overwhelmingly that Drive Up with Starbucks would bring even more ease and joy to every Target run. This one-of-a-kind service — available only at Target — is the latest example of how we're innovating every day to meet the needs of our guests."

The Starbucks item is freshly made before it's brought to your car, the Minneapolis-based retail giant said.

Here's how to add a Starbucks item to your Drive Up order:

  • Place a Drive Up order in the Target app
  • When the order os ready, indicate that you are on the way
  • A prompt in the app will ask if you want to place a beverage or food order from the Starbucks menu
  • Park in the Drive Up area and tap "I'm here" in the Target app
  • A Target employee will deliver the Starbucks order plus the rest of the Drive Up purchase.
  • There is no delivery fee

"Starbucks has a long history of adapting and innovating how we serve our customers, meeting them where they are," said Mark Ring, a senior vice president with Starbucks.

"Offering the Starbucks Experience to the Target Drive Up guest is a great example of two iconic brands creating a joyful moment in a way that Starbucks and Target are uniquely positioned to do together."
