Target Launches Its Answer To 'Amazon Prime'

Target announced Tuesday a new paid membership program that looks a lot like Amazon Prime.

MINNEAPOLIS — Target announced Tuesday a new paid membership program that looks a lot like Amazon Prime.

Starting April 7, Target customers can sign up for "Target Circle 360," a program that includes unlimited free same-day delivery for orders over $35 in as little as an hour with no delivery fees or markups.

Target Circle 360 members also get free two-day shipping, access to "preferred shoppers" who can personalize their experience, and access to Shipt Marketplace, which offers same-day delivery from more than 100 retailers nationwide.

Free two-day shipping can be used to deliver to your door — or someone else’s — for "easy, last-minute gift-giving."

"The changes reflect Target Circle members' desire for an even easier and more personalized shopping and saving experience," the Minneapolis-based retail giant said of the new program.

From April 7 to May 18, customers can sign up for Target Circle 360 for $49 for the first year.

Target also announced that its "RedCard" is being rebranded as the "Target Circle Card." The benefits, including 5 percent off every day and free two-day shipping, are unchanged.
