Showers and thunderstorms could put a damper on July 4 celebrations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area this year.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Showers and thunderstorms could put a damper on July 4 celebrations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area this year.
Storms are expected Monday morning and will stick through the evening.
"Temperatures warm through the weekend, with above normal temperatures for Sunday and Independence Day," the National Weather Service said.

"Saturday will see a chance for showers and storms in western and central Minnesota. The better chance for showers and storms will arrive on the 4th during the evening."
