Watch: Minneapolis Anti-Trump Protesters Shut Down I-94

For the second consecutive night, demonstrators marched through the Twin Cities in protest of the election of Donald Trump.

9:40 p.m. I-94 is back open in both directions, according to police. Protesters have dispersed.


9:25 p.m. The protesters have left I-94, according to authorities. Minneapolis police say they are now working to determine if they have all left the area.


9:00 p.m. The group of protesters currently on I-94 is dwindling as authorities work to get people off the freeway. Minneapolis police estimates the group is now less than 100 people.

8:52 p.m. Police and protesters are currently in a standoff on I-94 near Cedar Avenue. Portions of the main group of demonstrators have exited the freeway. Minneapolis police say they're working to get as many off the freeway as possible.


8:15 p.m. Protesters have marched onto Interstate 94 in Minneapolis, entering via the Riverside Avenue exit. The Minneapolis police is on the scene and is urging motorists and residents to avoid the area.

Protests against Donald Trump's presidential election continued Thursday across the country, including in Minneapolis. Demonstrators gathered for an anti-Trump rally at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota Thursday evening before marching through and blocking streets in Minneapolis.

The protests Thursday follows demonstrations that took place in Saint Paul Wednesday night.
