Let's Talk Vikings: Vikings vs Texans Preview

Vikings coaches will get their last look at rookies on Thursday, against the Houston Texans.

On Thursday, the Vikings (1-2) will play their last preseason game, at home against the Houston Texans (3-0).

The Texans are coming off of a 30-7 win against the 49ers. The Texans have also beat quality teams in the Jets and Saints.

The Vikings are coming off a close 23-17 loss to the Cowboys. While the Vikings didn't win, they played well and showed signs of major progress.

Donovan McNabb probably won't play this week, the Vikings trying to keep him from getting injured. So that means we'll get to see Joe Webb and Christian Ponder. Both young quarterbacks are trying to be McNabb's backup. I think the Vikings will pick Joe Webb since he has some experience from last year, while Christian Ponder is only a rookie and needs time to develop.

The Vikings have a good chance of winning since both teams will play their backups. Even if they don't win, this should be a productive game for coaches as they make their final decisions on many positions that are up for grabs until now.
