Defending State Champ Skippers Face Rosemount in Hockey
Minnetonka faces Rosemount on the road Thursday in a battle of 2011 state tournament teams.

ON THE LINE
The Skippers, who won the 2011 state title with a 29-1-1 mark, faces fellow tournament team Rosemount, who was 22-7-1 last year and lost to Lakeville South in consolation play. Minnetonka lost to Anoka 3-1 in their season opener. The Skippers were ranked preseason #1 by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. They must replace graduated seniors Julie Friend, a goalie who is at St. Cloud State and defenseman Rachel Ramsey, who signed with Minnesota. Rosemount also lost two seniors who are playing college hockey. Rachael Kelly, who made the Class AA All-Tournament team, is at Bemidji State and Allison Micheletti landed at Providence.

The junior made the Class All-Tournament team last season after scoring seven goals in three games.
Caitlin Dantzscher – Rosemount goalie
The senior was the Irish’s goalkeeper in both of their state tournament games last year.

They can get shots on goal. They averaged 4.4 goals per game last season and were not shutout all season.

They can continue to get strong defensive play. The Irish return an experienced goalkeeper vand had seven shutouts last season.
